About the Pilot
Gary L. Tyo
| A Native of North Central Ohio, Gary is a ballooning veteran of 30 years. His interest in ballooning came after attending a Festival in 1972, while helping a pilot launch a balloon. He thought it was a unique and fascinating experience and that he would like to try it some time. It wasn't until 1981 that he purchased his first balloon and obtained his Private pilot’s license. The following year he acquired his Commercial license. He is a member of the Central Ohio Balloon Club, and a long-time member of the Balloon Federation of America. Gary has an excellent flying record with no accidents or injuries. He has extensive knowledge of the art and science of ballooning and is dedicated to keeping the balloon business safe, exciting and enjoyable for every passenger that flies with Mid Ohio Balloon Adventures, LLC. His easy-going personality makes him your ideal pilot when floating over the farms and countryside of North Central Ohio. Gary says he "thoroughly enjoys all aspects of ballooning including competing and flying for fun. The best part, however, is the excitement the balloon brings to others." When not flying balloons, you can find him riding his bike, hiking, running, camping, traveling, playing basketball, reading, and spending time with his family and friends. |
